The Bio-Farm and Nature Reserve Near RedRock
Walk from The Nest to the RedRock bio-farm and fallow deer reserve: how long it takes, what to expect with kids and dogs, and why you must not feed the deer.
What to Know
- It is a stroll through the village, not a hike, allow 20–40 minutes.
- Do not feed the deer, especially with children nearby.
- Dogs stay leashed on RedRock grounds.
- Shaded paths ice in winter; wear shoes with grip.
One of RedRock's quieter pleasures is walking the planted grounds toward the organic bio-farm and wildlife reserve areas. It's part of why the village feels different from a hotel strip.
What you'll find
Landscaped paths, greenery, and, depending on the day, views toward the fallow deer reserve. Families often make this a short outing between lunch and sunset.
Do not feed the deer
For safety, especially with children, feeding the deer is not allowed. Look, take photos from a sensible distance, and leave them alone.
With kids and dogs
Keep children close near wildlife fencing. Dogs must stay leashed on RedRock premises.
How long
Treat it as a stroll, not a hike. Wear decent shoes, paths can be uneven, and winter means ice in shaded spots.
