A Chalet for Couples in Faqra, Sized for Exactly Two

Almost every chalet for rent on the Faraya–Faqra mountain sleeps four to seven. The Nest is sized for two, on purpose, with a sofa bed for a third: a weekend getaway or staycation 45 minutes above Beirut. One king bed, one bathroom, a private lawn with a fire pit, a bottle on the counter when you arrive, and a village quiet enough to hear the valley at night.

Why Two Is the Right Number

A couple renting a family chalet pays for bedrooms they never open. The Nest is a one-bedroom chalet for two inside RedRock: you get the same gated village, the same pools, the same eight minutes to Mzaar, without the empty rooms.

The Fire Pit at Dusk

A bottle of wine of your choice and bottled water are on the counter when you arrive, with Nespresso capsules for the morning. The patio and lawn are private, with a fire pit, a barbecue grill and a small bag of firewood included; extra bundles are charged. Light the fire pit as the valley turns blue and pour a glass.

The Stars from the Patio

At 1,600 metres with almost no street lighting, the patio is already a dark-sky seat: no drive, no telescope. On a clear moonless night the Milky Way is visible. Give your eyes twenty minutes without a phone, and avoid the full moon. Autumn is the sweet spot: clear skies, long nights, and temperatures you can stand for an hour. The Perseid meteor shower peaks in mid-August and the Geminids in mid-December. Light the fire pit first, then move away from it once you are warm.

Dinner for Two

Faqra Club's restaurants are three minutes away. For a proper dinner, Chez Cheker in Kfardebian is the reliable answer: rustic Lebanese around big fireplaces, and open all year, which is rarer up here than you would think. Book ahead on winter weekends. After the lifts close, ODIN Mzaar runs late with cocktails and live music, and L'APRÈS is the smaller, quieter alternative. Or do not go out at all: the grill is on your own lawn.

Winter and Summer for Two

In winter it is a ski weekend with an indoor garage: eight minutes to the Mzaar lifts, back for lunch, out again before the lifts close (15:15 on weekdays, 15:45 at weekends), then the fire pit. Valentine's (13 to 15 February) is charged at the Peak Season rate, $169 a night on weekdays and $189 on Friday and Saturday nights, with a one-night minimum, and it goes early. In summer the three shared infinity pools are a two-minute walk, the evenings cool down enough to sleep with the windows open, and the Faqra festival fills late July.

Nobody meets you at a desk. Each stay gets its own PIN on the smart lock, sent with photo directions 24 hours ahead, so a Friday-evening arrival after work in Beirut is 45 minutes up the mountain and straight in.

Booking for Two

Rates start at $118 a night on weekdays in low season (26 March to 31 May and 16 September to 30 November), when the mountain is green and empty, and $149 in ski and pool season. Cleaning and linens are included. Common Questions

Can a third person stay?

Yes. The chalet sleeps up to three: two in the king bed in the bedroom and a third guest on the sofa bed in the living room. It is built for a couple, or two adults and a child.

Is Valentine's available, and what does it cost?

13 to 15 February is charged at the Peak Season rate: $169 a night on weekdays and $189 on Friday and Saturday nights, with a one-night minimum. It books early, so check the calendar as soon as you can and message Karl if you want the dates held.

Where do we eat?

Chez Cheker in Kfardebian for rustic Lebanese dinners, La Jonction by the Mzaar slopes for lunch, Em Bachir Saj on the road up for breakfast, and ODIN or L'APRÈS at Mzaar for après-ski.

Is anything included for a special occasion?
