If you have never skied in Lebanon, or never skied at all, Mzaar will feel familiar in some ways and oddly short in others. This is the honest briefing from eight minutes down the road.
If you've skied elsewhere
Expect a shorter day. Lifts close at 15:15 on weekdays, 15:45 at weekends. That catches people out.
Expect a lot of drag lifts. More than you're used to, and they're the thing beginners find hardest.
Expect no trees. The bowl is open, which is fine in sun and disorienting in flat light.
Expect sun. More than the Alps. Sun cream matters more here.
Don't expect black runs. The steepest marked terrain is a solid red by Alpine standards.
The practical sequence

What to wear
Layers, not bulk. It's sunnier and warmer than Alpine skiing. Waterproof shell over base and mid layers.

You're not coming for the world's best skiing. You're coming to ski a real mountain an hour from a Mediterranean capital, with the Bekaa Valley on one side and, on clear days, the sea on the other.
