Inside The Nest: How to Use the Chalet
How to use The Nest: smart-lock PIN, 24/7 battery electricity, WiFi and pocket 4G, Nespresso, kitchenette, washer-dryer, heating, fire pit and the shared pools.
What to Know
- Keep this page open on your phone for the first hour.
- Leave the battery system alone, message Karl if power looks wrong.
- Kitchenette: light cooking only. No oven, no frying.
- Firewood is not included. Pools are seasonal, 10:00–19:00.
This is the practical tour of The Nest, what to touch, what to leave alone, and how the appliances work. Keep it open on your phone for the first hour and you will not need to ask us anything.
Smart lock and entry
After RedRock security (your name + Karl / The Nest; ID may be requested), go to the main door. Enter the PIN we send 24 hours before arrival. Each stay gets its own code.

Electricity (24/7 battery system)
The chalet runs on a battery-backed system so power stays on through grid cuts. Leave the system as you found it, do not flip unknown breakers. If something looks off, message Karl rather than troubleshooting the panel yourself.
WiFi and pocket 4G
WiFi details are in your arrival message. A pocket 4G device is backup when mountain signal is patchy. Keep it charged and on the desk unless you need it elsewhere.

Nespresso and hot drinks
Use the Nespresso machine with the capsules provided (a couple are included on arrival). Fill the water tank, insert a capsule, and brew. Kettle is available for tea.

Kitchenette
Hob, fridge, basic pans and utensils. Light cooking only, pasta, soups, salads. No frying, and there is no oven. Wash as you go (no dishwasher).

Washer and dryer
In-unit washer-dryer is available. Use a normal cycle with a modest load. Do not overload. Eco note: do not throw away empty detergent bottles if they are the refillable ones provided, leave them for refill.

Heating
Radiant heating keeps the chalet warm in winter. Tell us your arrival window and we aim to have it comfortable when you open the door. Turn heating down when you leave for the day if you like, just do not shut systems you do not understand.
TV and streaming
Smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime, OSN+, Shahid and local cable. Board games (Uno, Jenga, Catan and cards) are in the living area.
Fire pit
Patio fire pit is yours to use. Firewood is not provided, buy wood or charcoal nearby before you settle in. Never leave the fire unattended. No BBQ or glassware at the shared pools.

Shared RedRock pools
In season (mid-June to 30 September), pools are open 10:00–19:00. No shisha, no BBQ, no glass or ceramic cups, eco-friendly cups only.

Checkout reminder
By noon: turn things off, lock the terrace door properly, close the main door. The smart lock holds it.
